2023 UPS Canadian Peak Surcharges for the Holiday Season
It's official. Peak shipping season is here! UPS® has announced its peak season surcharges for 2023.
Peak shipping season is here! UPS® has announced its peak season surcharges for 2023 in Canada. Effective October 1, 2023, until January 13, 2024, a Peak Surcharge will apply to all Canada-origin and import shipments on packages that require Additional Handling, Large Package, or Over Maximum Limits.
Peak/Demand Surcharge
A Peak/ Demand Surcharge will apply in the amounts set forth below to the indicated service levels during the specified Demand Period.
Canada Origin/Import Shipments

*These high-demand surcharges apply in addition to standard fees for all parcels, regardless of their service, origin, or destination within Canada, when fees are settled within Canada as either prepaid or collect (for imports) and billed to a Canadian UPS account. For parcels billed to a non-Canadian UPS account, please refer to the relevant country's UPS website for information on high-demand surcharges. Note that UPS Worldwide Express Freight®/UPS Worldwide Express Freight® - Midday services are exempt from these surcharges.

*These Demand Surcharges are applicable to packages sent to/from Canada when payment is made in Canada, either Prepaid or Import Freight Collect, and when using a Canadian UPS Account. For packages sent to/from the U.S. and billed to a U.S. UPS Account, please refer to the UPS U.S. website for specific information on Demand Surcharges.
