Canada Post is introducing price adjustments to Domestic, USA, and International parcel prices and services. The rate adjustment is similar to the ones in past years and it helps cover extra handling costs to ensure a successful peak season. Those changes will go into effect on Sept. 12 and run until Jan 15, 2023.The prices are reflecting the increasing costs of processing and delivery, Nevertheless, prices remain competitive and consistent with past adjustments.

Weight average price increase for parcels is 4% for commercial customers.
USA/ International
Weight average price increase for parcels is 1.4% for commercial customers.
Ancillary Fees
Changes to option and surcharge prices (for more information please consult the Customer Guide):
- Rate increases for shipping options and surcharges include:
- Signature: increase from $1.75 to $2.00
- Liability Coverage: up to $100 for Regular Parcel: increase from $2.25 to $2.50
- Additional Liability Coverage: increase from $2.25 to $2.50
- Manual document surcharge: increase from $1.50 to $2.00
- Non-manifested item surcharge: increase from $1.50 to $2.00
Peak Season Surcharges (October 31, 2022 to January 15, 2023)
- Oversized/Unpackaged: increase from $18 to $25
- Out-of-spec: increase $300 from $400

The temporary price increase will keep Canada Post competitive with other shippers — many of which also typically add surcharges during peak seasons — and help cover the extra costs that are anticipated during the peak holiday season. Smartmail Marketing price and services changes will be posted on Canada Post website by October 28, 2022.
